If you’ve never heard of Outlawz Fatal before, you might not be familiar with the rapper. Born Bruce Edward Washington Jr. in Philadelphia, he was a member of the rap group that gained worldwide recognition. His collaborations with Tupac Shakur are among his most notable contributions. However, he was also known as Fat Hussein, an alias for the rapper. His songs have been adapted by many artists, including the Beatles.
The first Outlawz member, Kastro, was the son of a friend of Tupac. They lived in Atlanta together. Both had close relationships with their mothers. They even went on vacation together once. Napoleon had an aunt that lived in the South and was friends with his mom. During this time, Fatal also influenced Tupac by writing lyrics and rearranging beats. As the name implies, the album will be out sometime in the next couple of years.
The Outlawz were famous in the 90s because of their collaborations with Tupac Shakur. They produced numerous Tupac Shakur songs. Sadly, Fatal died of an unknown cause at the age of 38. His death was the result of an assailant in a car accident. In fact, Fatal was a member of the group for more than ten years. It’s not clear if the band will continue to perform and release music.
After the mentorship with Tupac, Fatal began writing again. He looked up to the legendary rapper as his teacher, and put his knowledge into practice on his new LP, In The Line of Fire. The LP reflects the relationship between Fatal and Tupac. His song “Everyday” is dedicated to Tupac. Although he released an album without the help of his friends, other Outlawz members were tied to Death Row Records.
Although the Outlawz started out as thug rap, they moved beyond that and began to make songs that have a higher impact on society. In fact, some of their lyrics are better than the commercial bullshit you hear on the radio. As their first single, Baby Don’t Cry, was criticized by some. It was the first song on the album. It wasn’t immediately successful, but people were impressed by it.
Washington had a solo career and a record label under his name. He recorded countless mixtapes under Thugtertainment, but soon left to pursue other projects. He also wrote a book, called “Journey of an Outlaw”, which was featured on the back cover of his latest album. Despite his death, Washington had been in negotiations for a book deal. His mother Cheryl Perkins and his 11 siblings are left behind, along with many other relatives and friends.
