Album Review – 2pac the Un outlawz
If you’re looking for a good, entertaining hip hop album, 2pac the Album is the one to get. This is the follow up to Pac’s “Gangsta” album and proves that Pac can still be himself on his own album. Sure, he’s sharing songs with Big Daddy Kane and Eminem, but still this is a Pac album. He’s still rapping about girls, cars, and weed… but only on this album. It’s more than likely that 2pac has finally grown up and is ready to stand on his own two feet.
The album is a great listen. It’s filled with classic beats, and still Pac was able to make them sound fresh and new. On the first few tracks, Pac takes a step away from his mellow, smooth tone to attack his listeners directly. The music gets quite fast, and Pac’s usually laid back tone gives way to some hard hitting “rap”. Throughout the whole song, you can almost feel the blood flowing.
One of my favorite songs on this album is “Who da fool is This”. It’s fast paced and has a lot of energy. It’s worth a listens to just to see how much energy Pac can put into his songs. After hearing it a couple times, I can’t help but think he may have a little bit of leftover energy from his previous albums.
One other hit on this album is “Baggy Tractor”. It’s another hard hitting, fast paced beat. This one has a nice “Xxplosive” vibe to it, and Pac took it and made it his own.
One of my favorite songs on this album is “Xxplosive” Also featuring Big Daddy Kane. This one is an absolute hard hitter. The beat is done simply and with a heavy bass. The whole song is performed with a street sense, instead of a more professional tone. If you haven’t listened to this one, you should definitely do so.
All in all, this album is great for any fan of hard hitting, urban music. Even if you don’t care for hard music, this one will stick around. It’s a sure fire hit, and probably will be on the radio for months to come.
Another good album that features Pac is Don’t Play These Songs. This is an excellent album and features some great hits. One of them is “Is not No Respect”. I think this song may be the first single that comes to mind when thinking about this legendary album.
One other great album that wasn’t on this album but should be is Juice. This was a major hit in the early 90’s and features Big Daddy Kane. On this album you also get Outlaw Man, another hard hitting single. While Juice isn’t on this album anymore, it’s a great album to consider if you like hard hitting, urban music. As far as this album is concerned, you’re going to love it.
All in all, this is a great album to add to your collection. If you like hard hitting, urban music then this album will definitely be something that’s on your list. You can purchase this album at some places online, or at your local record store. I recommend checking out 2pac the outlawz collection.
